Social Contribution Governance Structure

YOUNG POONG has established a dedicated social contribution system and operates it in a structured manner to fulfill its roles and responsibilities toward the local community. At the Sukpo smelter, the General Affairs Team leads social contribution efforts, managing the resolution of community grievances, promoting educational programs for the local community, and enhancing communication to foster mutual understanding both internally and externally.

Shared Growth Management Strategy

YOUNG POONG promotes shared growth management under the vision of ‘Fulfilling corporate social responsibility through mid- to long-term social contribution initiatives and strengthening services for vulnerable communities in underserved areas,’ with the overarching goal of shared prosperity between business and society. To better understand various local issues and contribute to regional development, we established local community engagement policy in 2025. From a mid- to longterm perspective, YOUNG POONG manages its social contribution activities in alignment with relevant Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), aiming to create shared value. We continue to engage with local stakeholders to gather diverse perspectives and are committed to addressing environmental and social challenges within the community while supporting its sustainable development.

Social Contribution Activities

YOUNG POONG is engaged in various social contribution activities for the mutual growth of the company and society.

We operate a village bathhouse that can be used by all residents free of charge throughout the year. Furthermore, we conduct various cultural projects every year to expand opportunities for our employees, their families, and local residents to enjoy culture in their daily lives. In addition, we make various efforts for mutual growth in the community, such as sharing briquettes and donating money to help neighbors in need and providing winter clothes for local students.

Shared Growth Management Goals

Guided by the corporate philosophy of “serving the nation through industry,” YOUNG POONG carries out a wide range of social contribution initiatives each year. This philosophy emphasizes contributing to the country and society through corporate growth and achieving shared prosperity. To this end, we have identified three key focus areas—local communities, future generations, and the elderly and underserved populations—to establish and implement the social contribution programs. After implementing these programs, we plan to conduct satisfaction surveys to engage with stakeholders, and operate effective programs that reflect their needs.
